Humble Beginnings

Hull High Fliers was founded in 1981 by Julie Williams and was based at Woodford Leisure Centre under the name ‘Woodford High Fliers’.

The club grew to one of the biggest in Yorkshire, with many great successes and was host to many local and national competitions, most notably the national Synchronised Championships and the Britain versus Germany Youth International.

Trampoline Centre of Excellence

In 2002 Hull City Council started work on a multi-purpose sports stadium to be used by the local community and professional/amateur clubs and the Council invited the club to be involved in creating a local centre of excellence for Trampolining.

Re-branding to Hull High Fliers the club moved into the Arena providing a centre of excellence for Trampolining and Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) for both the local community and for competitions both regionally and nationally.

Moving Forward

In 2015 due to the success of the local football team reaching Premier League Status, the sporting facilities were lost to the community when they were turned into a permanent indoor football training facility. With very little notice all sporting clubs had to find another venue.

We were grateful to be allowed to increase our sessions at our satellite facility, St Marys college, which enabled us to continue running the club until 2019. During this time our equipment had to go into storage while we searched for a new home.

Launching Forwards

In 2016 we formed our charity ‘Launch Pad’. The club after a long search for a permanent home has now leased the vacant Shipham’s factory on Hawthorn Avenue which has been developed into our new permanent home which we were able to move into in 2019.

Our Success Stories

We are very proud of all of our members that compete at local friendly competitions as well as regional, National and International events.

Over the years we have had many talented members competing nationally and internationally with great success and members having represented England and Great Britain, most notably Mike Zwahlen who represented Great Britain at the World Age groups and is now building on his background with us working for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
